Tartous/ Lattakia/ Homs, SANA- The firefighter brigades in the Forestry Departments of the Agriculture Directorates in Tartous, Lattakia and Homs continue to work to extinguish a fire that erupted in the countryside of the two provinces.
Tartous firefighting brigade and the Forestry Department extinguished a fire that was erupted in Beileh village in Dwair Sa’ad area in the countryside of the Province.
Commander of Tartous Firefighting Brigade Colonel Samir Shamma told SANA in a statement that the fire was very big and its was erupted in a forestry area.
Colonel Shamma added that the firefighting team, in cooperation with the locals, managed to encircle the fire to prevent its spreading to the neighboring areas.
In Lattakia, the Firefighting team work on extinguishing a fire which was erupted in the village of Al-Masis, Al-Mazirah district, in the province countryside.
Head of Forestry Department in Agriculture Directorate, Bassem Douba said, in a statement to SANA reporter, that work is underway to extinguish the fire erupted in Al-Masis.
Earlier, the Department, in cooperation with Lattakia firefighter brigades put out about ten agricultural fires in the countryside of the province which devoured a limited area of Olives, citrus and reeds.
In Homs, the firefighting teams continue the work to extinguish a large fire that broke out in a mountain at Jousiah site, in Al-Qusair area.
For his part, head of Al-Qusair city council Abdul Kafi Al-Khatib told SANA reporter that the firefighting teams is working to cordon a fire which was erupted in one of the mountains in the Jousiah area to prevent its spreading to the neighboring agricultural lands.
