Ambassador Ala: Unilateral, coercive measures are reason behind humanitarian suffering of the Syrians

Geneva, SANA-Syria has affirmed that the Takfiri terrorism war, and the economic terrorism war represented by the unilateral, coercive measures against the country are the main reasons behind the humanitarian suffering and the coercive displacement of the Syrians.

“The Syrian Arab Republic has stressed that the Israeli occupation is still the main reason behind the coercive displacement of half-million Syrians of the citizens of occupied Syrian Golan and millions of Palestinian refugees who are deprived from their right to return,” Ala said in a statement at the Executive Committee of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees   ( UNHCR ).

The Ambassador reiterated Syria’s demand to support its efforts in responding to the humanitarian situations in the country and facilitating the return of the displaced away from any political conditions the donor countries seek to impose on the work of the international humanitarian agencies.

Ala added that Syria ,despite the economic blockade, keeps working on returning the normal life and rehabilitating the infrastructure along with restoring the service institutions to the areas liberated from terrorism by the Syrian Arab Army.

He stressed that adopting legal and administrative measures to facilitate the return of the displaced and securing their basic needs have contributed to the return of more than 2 million displaced persons from inside and outside Syria to their residential areas.

Ala criticized the obstacles put by some international sides and agencies to hinder those efforts in the service of political agendas that manipulate the  humanitarian suffering  of the Syrians and seek to politicize the humanitarian response through conferences being held in the absence of the Syrian State.
