Participants in October Roads Race for Bicycles end first stage

Lattakia, SANA – The participants in October Roads Race for Bicycles, which its first stage was launched on Sunday from Dalyia village in the countryside of Jablah, arrived the end of the race’s first stage in the late leader Hafez al-Assad in al-Qardaha city after they cut off 48 km passing through several charming rural villages.

In a statement to SANA reporter, the Russian participant Marcel Miftakhovich, Secretary of the Olympic Council in Tatarstan thanked Syria’s leadership, people and all those who organized the race and General Sport Federation.

He said that he will invite Syrians to participate in a similar event in Russia particularly that the aim of the race is to send a message that sport is the best diplomacy in the world since its basis is peace and love.

In his turn, a Lebanese participant, Adeeb Tabet pointed out that the race is beautiful and of a high level of organization, hailing the Syrian people’s warm hospitality.

Meanwhile, Majdolen Tatrou, From Tunis pointed out that the race was an interesting event due to the beautiful nature, inviting whoever loves beauty and want to make tourist tour to come to Syria.

On Tuesday, the second stage of the race will start from al-Qardahah city to Sulanfah town.
