Paris, SANA- UN envoy to Syria Staffan De Mistura renewed his call to concentrate efforts on Aleppo, affirming he is contacting all sides to push his plan forward.
AFP quoted Di Mistura as saying, during a symposium at the UNISCO HQ in Paris on the Syrian and Iraqi heritage, that Aleppo is the city which has suffered more than any other city, but it could be an experiment of hope, adding “Our efforts concentrate on this city to freeze battles.”
In case not reaching a comprehensive political settlement, Di Mistura called for starting to decrease the violence in the largest city in the north of the country before launching a political process.
Last month, Di Mistura briefed President Bashar al-Assad on the main points and goals of his initiative to freeze the fight in Aleppo.
