Moscow, SANA-Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman, Maria Zakharova, affirmed on Thursday that the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) procrastinated the investigation into the incidents of using chemical weapons by armed terrorist organizations in Syria, although Syria regularly informs the Organization and the UN Security Council about it.
“Two years have passed since the incident which took place in Aleppo city on November 24th, 2018, nevertheless, the Technical Secretariat of the Organization has not made a decision regarding the investigation into the incident and presented new demands to the Syrian government, which guaranteed the Organization freedom of reaching the place of the incident and providing it with information, yet, Syria has always showed its readiness to cooperate in this regard” Zakharova said in a press conference in Moscow.
She expressed her regret over the Technical Secretariat of the Organization which depended on information from unknown sources and from other countries to investigate in incidents of using Chemical Weapons in Several Syrian towns, including Khan Sheikhoun.
