Damascus, SANA- Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Fayssal Mikdad on Wednesday offered condolences at the Indian Embassy in Damascus over the passing away of the late Indian President Pranab Mukherjee.
Mikdad wrote a note at the record of condolences, expressing the deepest condolences and sympathies over the passing away of the late Indian President Mukherjee, hailing his significant achievements he had made for his country and people, in addition to his efforts exerted to enhance the remarkable relations between Syria and India.
In a statement to journalists, Mikdad stressed the deep-rooted and strong relations linking the two countries, hailing the joint cooperation between them in various domains, particularly in light of the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation Programme (ITEC) which includes hundreds of Syrian every year.
Mikdad referred to cooperation between Syria and India and their struggle against terrorism for preserving their independence and sovereignty.
