Electricity restored to Alouk Water Station in preparation for pumping water to about million citizens in Hasaka

Hasaka, SANA- Electricity was restored on Saturday to Alouk Water Station in Hasaka northern countryside in preparation for pumping water after Turkish occupation and its mercenaries had stopped pumping water supplies to a million citizens in Hasaka city and its countryside for ten days.

SANA reporter in Hasaka said that the available information indicates that due to Syrian and international efforts and pressure campaign on Turkish regime, the move towards operating the station began and the electricity was restored to it since Saturday morning, yet water pumping hasn’t started toward Hasaka city yet, and therefore it is not possible to talk about the return of water until it reaches to locals’ houses in Hasaka and its surroundings.

The reporter added that the electricity supplied 9 wells out of 30 ones in Alouk station, north of Hasaka but it did not reach the pumps, therefore pumping operations haven’t started yet and that after operating the pumps, water takes about 12 hours to get into Hasaka city due to the length of the line’s route, which reaches 70 km.

SANA reporter added that any final solution to problem of providing the city and its surrounding with drinking water requires allowing the station’s workers to enter and supervise pumping operations in order to prevent it from being stopped by Turkish occupation or its mercenaries, and this has not happened so far also.
