Gold, silver, bronze medals for Syria in ISIJ camp for informatics finals

Damascus, SANA- The Syrian Science Olympiad’s students won gold, silver, and bronze medals, in addition to the second place cup for teams in the finals of the informatics camp organized by the Russian International School for Informatics “Junior” (ISIJ) held online between July 1st and 11th.

The Distinction and Creativity Agency said in a statement that the gold medals were won by 10th grade students Hazem al-Dalati from al-Bassel School for Outstanding Students in Homs, and Mohammad Wael Sultan of al-Bassel School for Outstanding Students in Aleppo.

The Silver medals were won by 10th grade students Mohammad Mufeed Mehemlat of Al-Bassel School for Outstanding Students in Aleppo, Ibraham Jamil from the Syrian School in Aleppo, Baraa Haddad from Jareer School in Aleppo, and Antoine Dabbous from Hilmi Abdul-Nour School in Homs, in addition to 11th grade student Amin Sharba from Dahiyat al-Firdaws School in Damascus.

The bronze medals were won by 9th grade students Ammar Alfin from al-Bassel School for Outstanding Students in Homs, and Hussein Busbeit of al-Bassel School for Outstanding Students in Damascus.

In addition to that, the Syrian Science Olympiad Informatics team, consisting of 12 students and 5 trainers, won the second place cup after China for the overall outcome of the camp which included daily exercises and competitions, as well as the concluding competition.

The camp’s activities were conducted  in English for 4 hours each day, with students from Russia, China, Britain, Belgium, New Zealand, Azerbaijan, Tunisia, and Syria.
