Worldwide coronavirus death toll surpasses 604 thousand

Capitals, SANA-  The novel coronavirus (Covid-19) has killed at least 604,000 people worldwide since its outbreak.

The “Worldometer” website which monitors the developments of the coronavirus around the world said that a total of 14427734 infections and 604,963 deaths have been recorded so far globally while 8,618,105 people have recovered.

In Germany, Robert Koch Institute announced that 202 new coronavirus infections and one death have been registered in the last 24 hours, raising the total number of infections to 201,574 and the deaths to 9084.

In Mexico, the Ministry of Health announced that 7,615 new infections and 578 deaths have been registered, bringing the total number of infections to 338,913 and the deaths to 38,888, and the government mentioned that the true number of infected people will be much greater than that of the declared cases.

In turn, Brazil recorded 28,532 infections and 921 new deaths from the virus during the last 24 hours, taking the total number of infections to 2,074,860 and the deaths to 78,772.

In Australia, the state of Victoria, the second most populated state in the country, announced that 363 new coronavirus infections were recorded after 217 cases were recorded yesterday, and that three other people died, bringing the total deaths since outbreak of the pandemic to 38 cases.

In China, the National Health Committee announced 16 new confirmed cases of the virus in the Chinese mainland, including 13 local cases, all in the Xinjiang region, without recording new deaths.

For its part, the Chilean Health Ministry announced that the total number of people infected with coronavirus increased to 328,846 and while the death toll amounted to 8,445 of the disease, after announcing 98 other deaths and 2,185 new infections in the last 24 hours.

 In Uzbekistan, the Health Ministry reported that the number of coronavirus infections in the country during the last 24 hours increased from 533 cases to 16,429.

In Egypt, the Ministry of Health announced the registration of 63 deaths and 698 new coronavirus infections bringing the death toll to 4,251 and 87,172 infections.
