Indian Embassy organizes event in Jableh on International Yoga Day

Lattakia, SANA – The Indian Embassy in Damascus on Sunday marked International Yoga Day, which is celebrated on June 21, with an event held at al-Baath Stadium in Jableh city.

In a speech before the start of the event, India’s Ambassador in Damascus Hifzur Rahman said that yoga has become a lifestyle for millions around the world, and that in addition to improving health, it forms a bridge between Indian and Syrian culture and helps spread messages of love and peace.

He also asserted that relations between India and Syria are strong and deep-rooted, and that his country is firm in its support for Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The event, which is titled “Yoga for Harmony and Peace,” included yoga practice by around 250 people from across the country.
