Homs, SANA – Homs Firefighting Brigade and civil defense on Monday extinguished 19 fires that erupted in several areas in the province.
Commander of Homs Firefighting Brigade Othman Jouda, said in a statement to SANA reporter that fires erupted in an agricultural land in Talbiseh area, and in oil wastes near al-Zarzuriyeh village and in the trees on Tartous–Homs highway and near the Agricultural Directorate, in addition to fires that erupted in the grass in Homs city and its countryside.
Jouda pointed out that the firefighters and civil defense extinguished a fire that erupted in the grass and eucalyptus trees near petroleum station of al-Swairi village and immediately controlled the fire and prevented it from reaching the station.
He affirmed the readiness of firefighters to put out any fire, calling upon citizens not to throw cigarettes on the roads or to set fires.
