Damascus, SANA- Temperatures will notably rise to become from 10 to 13 degrees above average as the country is affected by a superficial low air pressure coming from the southeast and accompanied by a semi tropical high air pressure accompanied by a hot and dry air mass in the upper layers of the atmosphere.
Meteorology Department expected in its Sunday bulletin that the weather will be very hot and clear in general while it will be misty in the eastern, al-Jazeera and al-Badia (semi-desert) regions.
The wind will be northern to northeastern with a moderate speed and active gusts in the afternoon over the eastern areas and al-Jazeera and al-Badia regions while the sea waves will be low in height.
Weather forecaster Shadi Jawish, in a statement to SANA, warned against the direct and long exposure to sunlight in order to avoid sunstroke, stress and fatigue, especially during peak hours from twelve p.m. to four in the p.m.
Jawish indicated that there is an increased possibility of fires due to the hot and dry mass, especially with the approaching harvest season.
