Damascus, SANA_ The Ministry of Health announced that 104 surveillance teams comprising 841 health workers continue to work in all provinces to detect any possible contagion with the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).
Co-director of Communicable and Chronic Diseases Dr. Atef al-Taweel, read the ministry statement on Sunday, indicating that the ministry tracks people who enter the country illegally and put them in quarantine centers.
“The number of people located in quarantine centers from last February 5 to April 26 amounted 2,388, of whom 1925 left the quarantine centers while 463 are still under supervision.” He said.
The ministry called for ending the economic terrorism and lifting unilateral and politicized coercive measures imposed by Washington and its tools on Syria since they negatively affect the health of Syrians and limit the performance of the health sector and the necessary response to confront the Coronavirus pandemic.
It should be noted that the number of Coronavirus cases registered in Syria has reached 42 cases so far of which 11 cases have recovered and three cases have died.
