Tehran, SANA-Russian and Iranian Presidents, Vladimir Putin and Hassan Rouhani, affirmed the need for continuing consultations on Astana process about Syria.
Sputnik news agency quoted President Putin as saying in a telephone call with his Iranian counterpart “It is necessary to go ahead in the consultations between Iran and Russia about Astana in addition to the tripartite talks with Turkey.
Rouhani, for his part, stressed the necessity of holding the three-way consolations in the framework of Astana process and develop cooperation with Russia on regional issues, according to a statement by Iranian presidency.
Maria Zakharova, Spokeswoman of the Russian Foreign Ministry, said on Monday that Foreign Ministers of Astana guarantor states (Russia, Iran and Turkey) will hold talks through video conference about Syria on April 22nd.
