Temperatures to drop, snow expected over mountains

Damascus, SANA- Temperatures continue to drop to become from 5 to 9 below average as the country is affected by a low air pressure in all layers of the atmosphere accompanied by a cold and wet air mass.

Meteorology Department expected in its Friday bulletin that the skies will be partly cloudy to rainy, heavy rain showers accompanied with thunder are expected over the western and northern areas, while snow will fall at night over the mountains whose height exceeds 1000 meters.

The wind will be southwesterly with a light to moderate speed and the sea waves will be light in height.

Various amounts of rainfalls were registered in the Syrian provinces over the past 24 hours as follows: 10 mm in Damascus Countryside, 13 mm in Sweida, 13 mm in Quneitra,40 mm in Homs, 22 mm in Hama, 32 mm in Tartous , 22 mm in Lattakia, 11 mm in Aleppo, 31 mm in Raqqa, and 15 mm in Hasaka.

The expected temperatures in some main Syrian cities are as follows: Damascus 11/04, Daraa 10/04, Homs 10/05, Hama 12/06, Lattakia 15/08, Aleppo 10/03 and Deir Ezzor 16/05.
