Damascus, SANA- Temperatures will drop to become from 2 to 3 degrees below average in most areas as the country is affected by a polar low pressure in all layers of the atmosphere accompanied by a cold and wet air mass.
Meteorology Department expected in its Wednesday bulletin that the skies will be partly cloudy to cloudy and rainy over most areas and the rains will be heavy over the coastal and the southwestern areas while snow will fall over the mountains whose height exceeds 1,400 meters.
The wind will be southwesterly with a moderate speed with active gusts in most of the areas while it will be southeasterly with active gusts and dusty conditions in the eastern, al-Badia (semi-desert) and al-Jazeera areas, and the sea waves will be high in amplitude.
Over the past 24 hours, different amounts of rainfalls have been registered in a number of Syrian provinces as follows: Hama 23mm, Tartous 26.5 mm, Lattakia 6.7 mm and Aleppo 1mm.
The expected temperatures in some major Syrian cities will be as follows: Damascus 10/4, Daraa 12/5, Homs 13/4, Lattakia 16/11, Aleppo 9/4 and Deir Ezzor 17/5.
