Christmas tree in Aleppo… Syrians celebrate as city recovers from years-long terrorism

Aleppo, SANA_ Hundreds of Syrians have flocked to the Aleppo-based al-Aziziyeh Square to participate in the Christmas tree lighting ceremony.

Nowadays, people in Aleppo celebrate Christmas, as the peaceful life continues to get back on track in the city, three years after its liberation. Christmas in the Syrian city of Aleppo is a very special holiday indeed.

The battle for the liberation of the city, which raged for several years, ended just a couple days before Christmas back in 2016, and the holiday now goes hand in hand with the liberation celebrations.

In statements to SANA reporter, a number of participants in the celebration expressed their happiness with the lighting of the Christmas tree, underlining that the joys of Christmas coincide with the anniversary of the victory of Aleppo over terrorism.

They hoped that goodness, love and peace will prevail over all Syrian cities.
