Damascus University, Russian STANKIN University sign cooperation agreement  

Damascus, SANA- Damascus University and Moscow State University of Technologies (STANKIN) signed an agreement of scientific cooperation in the domain of developing academic and cultural research, and holding symposiums and joint scientific programs, in addition to exchanging expertise and academic visits.

Following the signing of the agreement in Moscow with Rector of STANKIN University Elena Kataeva, Rector of Damascus University Mohammad Maher Qabaqibi expressed hope that the relations of academic and scientific relations between the two universities will be up to the solid friendly relations between the two countries.

During his visit to Moscow last week, Qabaqibi inspected the scientific specializations at STANKIN University at the first university degree and at the higher studies, and he visited the pavilions of the 6th Russian National Educational and Industrial Expo 2019.

Qabaqibi also discussed with Rector of Moscow State University of Civil Engineering (MGSU) Andrey Volkov means to activate the signed agreements between the two sides, and he inspected the experiment of wind tunnel for tests of building structures.

While his meeting with Vice-Rector of National Research University “Moscow Power Engineering Institute” (MPEI) Alexander Tarasov touched on the mechanisms of the joint scientific and academic cooperation.

Tarasov highly appreciated of the Syrian students who have graduated from Moscow Power Engineering Institute.

It is noteworthy, that 19 Russian universities including STANKIN University participated in a scientific exhibition that was held at Damascus University on Sep. 30th with the aim of introducing the Russian educational system and the specializations at the Russian universities, in addition to the scholarships provided by the Russian Government to the foreign students.
