Geneva, SANA-Syria’s permanent representative to the UN in Geneva, Hossam al-Din Ala, warned against the danger of illegitimate acts some societies, members in the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, are carrying out on Syrian territories.
Ambassador Ala, speaking at the 33rd International Conference of the Red Cross and Red Crescent, added that the Syrian State, though big challenges in combating terrorism and confronting foreign occupation and intervention, continues its cooperation and dialogue with the international organizations of the Red Cross and Red Crescent to meet the needs of its citizens in all Syrian areas without any discrimination.
He called on those societies to stop their illegal practices, referring to violations that surround the application of the International humanitarian law in occupied Palestine, occupied Syrian Golan and the Israeli occupation practices in preventing the Syrian and Palestinian societies from assuming their humanitarian work.
Ala called on countries which support terrorist organizations to comply with the legal rules regulating the combat activities according to international law and UN relevant resolutions.
“Syria is committed to boosting respect for the international human law and its principles in the framework of the International Conference,” Ala said.
