Moscow, SANA- Russian Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Oleg Ryazantsev stressed that the report of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) on the alleged chemical attack in Douma, Damascus countryside in 2018 is a distortion of facts.
Sputnik quoted Ryazantsev, who is heading the Russian delegation to the 24th session of the OPCW member-states conference, as saying “we are confident that the outcomes of the special mission to Syria are “not reliable”, indicating that the aim of the outcomes of the OPCW mission on the alleged chemical attack in Douma is to exercise pressure on Damascus.
He reiterated that the Syrian government has provided information to the technical secretariat regarding the terrorist and extremist organization’s practices in the country, but this information was simply ignored by the OPCW.
