Moscow, SANA- The Russian Defense Ministry on Tuesday warned that Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organization and the so-called “White Helmets” organization are plotting for making provocations through the use of chemical substances in Idleb province.
Witnesses from the locals of Sarmada town, 30 km northeast of Idleb city, affirmed that unidentified persons and a convoy of three trucks laden with different chemical containers had arrived in the city with terrorists from Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organization earlier this month, the ministry said in a statement quoted by Russia Today website.
Witnesses said one truck also contained professional video equipment and air and artillery ammunition fragments.
“Terrorists are selecting members of the local population to participate in filming scenes that will be presented as showing the effects of air strikes and the use of toxic substances,” the ministry added.
The Ministry of Defense said the fake videos which allegedly show civilian targets destroyed by air strikes and the shelling, and they document the alleged use of chemical weapons in Idleb, will be posted on social media to accuse the Syrian Arab Army and the Russian Aerospace Forces.
The Ministry pointed out that information concerning the preparation of terrorists from a group led by “Abu Malik” which is affiliated to Jabhat al-Nusra and terrorists from the “White Helmets” for provocative acts, has been confirmed by several sources.
Earlier this month, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova warned that the White Helmets were preparing with terrorists to carry out chemical weapons provocations in Syria.
She noted that Russia has publicly revealed evidence that the “White Helmets” are linked to terrorists.
“We would like to reiterate that steps that amount to complicity with terrorism are totally unacceptable,” Zakharova said.
The Russian defense and foreign ministries have warned on several occasions over recent years of preparations by terrorist organizations in various places in their areas of deployment to carry out fabricated plays in cooperation with the “White Helmets” terrorist organization on the use of chemical weapons to accuse the Syrian Arab Army of them to create pretexts for US and Western attacks like what happened during the US-French-British tripartite aggression in April last year.
