Vienna, SANA- Austrian Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg affirmed that the Turkish offensive on Syrian territory is a “wrong act”, and it undermines security and stability in the region as a whole, calling for banning all weapons exports to the Turkish regime.
During his participation in the meeting of European Foreign Ministers in Luxemburg, Schallenberg affirmed in a statement published on the website of the Austrian Foreign Ministry the necessity of taking a unanimous European decision by the EU member states on banning weapons exports to Turkey in the optimal way.
Minister Schallenberg reiterated Austria’s call for canceling Turkey’s EU membership bid.
Earlier, France, Germany, Netherlands, Norway, Finland and Czech Republic suspended the export of any new shipments of weapons to the Turkish regime due to its aggression on the Syrian territories.
