Cuba’s Ambassador: Despite the US embargo, we will participate in Damascus International Fair

Damascus, SANA – The Cuban Ambassador in Damascus, Miguel Porto Parga, said that the friendly relations between his country and Syria are based on mutual respect, the defense of sovereignty and national interests and support for the right causes as well as strengthening bilateral relations to overcome the consequences of the coercive US measures imposed on the peoples of the two countries.

In an interview with SANA, Ambassador Parga said that Syria and Cuba celebrate the 54th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations this month at a time when they continue to face challenges and a common enemy represented by the US, which imposes an economic embargo on the peoples of both countries.

He added that his country will participate in the activities of the 61st edition of the Damascus International Fair in spite of the economic embargo imposed on Cuba, clarifying that his country’s pavilion will include Cuban products related to vital technology and medication.
