Lavrov stresses need for eliminating terrorism in Syria

Moscow, SANA- Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov reiterated the need for eliminating terrorism in Syria , and preserving the country’s unity and territorial integrity, noting that Washington follows double standard policy in fighting terrorists.

Lavrov ‘s remarks came during a press conference with Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Yousef bin Ahmad Al-Othaimeen on Wednesday in Moscow.

Lavrov said that Moscow welcomes counter-terrorism efforts both in eastern Syria and Idleb, yet the US shows double standards.

Lavrov expressed concern over the continued US illegal presence as the US continues to carry out actions that do not match the logic of counter terrorism.
