Damascus, SANA-Foreign and Expatriates Ministry said the Israeli authorities have launched criminal attacks against the Palestinian people in the past few days, with Israeli extremist groups breaking into al-Aqsa Mosque and attacking Palestinian people.
“The new onslaught means that Israel is going ahead with its plan to Judiase Jerusalem and end the Arab presence there and annex it to its entity, in what would lead up to liquidating the Palestinian cause and the inalienable rights of the Palestinians, namely the right to return and self-determination, and to establish their own independent state,” said the ministry in a statement of which SANA received a copy.
“As it strongly condemns Israeli crimes against Palestinian citizens in the occupied Arab lands, Syria reiterates its firm support to the Palestinians in Jerusalem and across the Palestinian territories, and stresses that the Palestinian cause is the central cause of the Arab nation,” added the ministry.
The Palestinian cause, the statement noted, will remain “the compass that guides Arab struggle against the occupation policies and expropriation of lands.”
The statement said Syria demands that the international community, including the United Nations Security Council, end the Israeli inhumane crimes that are antithetical to international law, the UN Charter and the relevant UN resolutions, including setting a timeframe that binds Israel to withdraw from the occupied Arab and Palestinian lands.
