Beirut, SANA-Patriarch Bechara Boutros al-Rahi affirmed on Friday that international powers have sought to sabotage Syria and Iraq, so they funded and armed terrorist organizations and caused the displacement of a big number of residents in both countries.
The patriarch, meeting Patriarch Irinej of Serbia along with Patriarch of Antioch and All the East for Rome Orthodox Youhanna Yazigi X, added that some countries still obstruct the return of Syrian refugees to their home for political purposes.
“Thus those countries have imposed two wars on Syria… the first through fire and iron which destroyed the stone.. and the second was through policy and intimidation to kill the culture and identity,” Patriarch Rahi said.
