November 2, Irish essayist, novelist and Nobel-laureate for Literature  George Bernard Shaw passes away

 

1917 – British Foreign Secretary Arthur James Balfour sends letter to Baron Lionel Walter de Rothschild pledging British support for the establishment of Jewish national home. The Letter is known later as Belfour Declaration.

1937 – Italian leader  Benito Mussolini announces  the establishment of Berlin-Rome Axis, known as the Axis powers.

1983 – US President Ronald Reagan sings bill establishing  Martin Luther King birthday a holiday.

1755 – Queen of France Marie Antoinette was born.

1950 – Irish essayist, novelist and Nobel-laureate for Literature  George Bernard Shaw passes away.
