Damascus, SANA- Syrian Cartoonist Raed Khalil won award of excellence at International Cartoon Competition on Environmental Protection 2019 recently held in China.
More than 3,000 cartoons from 44 countries across the world took part in the competition .
Khalil’s wining cartoon highlighted the drought and water shortage by placing a drop of water as bait for the fish that lost its living environment.
The competition was sponsored by The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) , the World Wide Fund for Nature, the Caricature Research society and Chinese and international environmental and media centers.
Khalil harvested a number of international awards and participated in the arbitration of several international festivals. He is Director of the annual Syrian International Cartoon Contest.
