Prague, SANA_ Head of the Czech Parliamentary Group for Friendship with Syria Stanislav Grosbic confirmed that the European Union’s extension of coercive economic measures against Syria is aimed at obstructing the efforts to eradicate the remaining hotbeds of terrorism and the efforts to rebuild the infrastructure destroyed by terrorism.
“The European Union, through sanctions on Syria, proves that it stands by terrorism,” Grosbic said in a statement to SANA reporter in Prague on Tuesday.
He stressed that the sanctions imposed by the EU are mainly harming Syrian citizens, as well as damaging countries of the Union itself since Syria has important partners in the world like Russia, China and others.
The Czech MP expressed his conviction that these sanctions on Syria will fall sooner or later.
He stressed that the Czech people did not change their attitude towards Syria, as they fully understood the reality of what is going on there and unveiled the campaigns of lies and deception being practiced against it.
