Slovak Foreign Minister underlines importance of continuing Astana talks to solve crisis in Syria

Nur-Sultan, SANA- Slovak Foreign Minister, Chairperson-in-Office the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Miroslav Lajčák underlined the importance of continuing Astana process to solve the crisis in Syria.

Lajčák was quoted by the Slovak News Agency after talks held at the Kazakh Capital of Nur-Sultan with Speaker of Kazakhstan’s Senate Dariga Nazarbayev as saying that “Astana talks have greatly contributed to the work for finding a political solution to this crisis.”

For her part, Nazarbayev said “The exerted joint efforts should continue to implement the outcomes of Astana process.”

11 meetings have been held within Astana format, one of them was held in the Russian City of Sochi and all of them affirmed firm adherence to preserving Syria’s sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity and to continuing war on the terrorist organizations till eliminating them completely.
