Cuba renews its firm support for Syria in its anti-terrorism war

Havana, SANA_ Cuban Minister of Culture Alpidio Alonso voiced his country’s firm support for Syria in the face of the terrorist war waged against it and for finding a political solution to the crisis based on respect for its sovereignty and non-interference in its internal affairs.

Alonso’s remarks came during a meeting with Syria’s Ambassador to Cuba Dr. Idris Mayya at the headquarters of the Cuban Ministry of Culture in Havana.

Minister Alonso denounced the dirty war launched against Syria, hailing steadfastness of the Syrian people in the face of terrorism.

” Syria and Cuba have two rich cultures,” he said, stressing importance of both sides to be briefed on culture of each other which would strengthen relations between the two friendly peoples and countries.

For his part, Ambassador Mayya confirmed importance of bolstering relations between Syria and Cuba, especially in the cultural field, and working to organize cultural weeks for both countries, a week for the Syrian-Cuban cinema and exhibitions of plastic arts.
