Damascus, SANA-Foreign and Expatriates Ministry on Thursday held a farewell ceremony for the Armenian Ambassador in Damascus Arshak Poladian on the occasion of the end of his diplomatic mission in Syria.
During the ceremony, Poladian was awarded the Syrian Order of Merit of the Excellent Degree in appreciation for his friendly country and noble personality.
The ambassador thanked President Bashar al-Assad for awarding him this medal and for the constructive joint coordination and cooperation, as well as the support and great facilitations that the Syrian institutions had provided for him to accomplish his mission.
In his speech, Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Fayssal Mikdad hailed Poladian’s efforts and key role in further bolstering bilateral relations between Syria and Armenia, indicating that the Armenian community is an integral part of the Syrian society that has vastly contributed to the development of the country.
Mikdad noted to the Turkish regime’s continued crimes against the Syrian and Armenian peoples, adding that the Turkish occupation of parts of Syrian territory reveals Turkey’s hostile attitude and mentality.
