Haidar: Reconciliation efforts should target Adra, Adra al-Balad, al-Dukhaniye, and part of Jobar next

Damascus, SANA – State Minister for National Reconciliation Affairs Ali Haidar met head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) mission in Syria Boris Michel, discussing with him prospects of cooperation in tackling the issue of missing and abducted people and providing psychological, social, and financial support to their families.

Haidar stressed the reconciliation is essential to resolving the crisis in Syria, calling for devising a joint action plan between the State Ministry and the ICRC to support reconciliations, saying that the next areas that reconciliations efforts should take place in are Adra, Adra al-Balad, al-Dukhaniye, and part of Jobar.

In a statement to SANA after the meeting, Haidar said that the State Ministry proposed a number of ideas to the ICRC on the work that the organization can carry out in Syria.

He also dismissed the U.S. air strikes against ISIS in Syria as attempts to replace one form of terrorism with another, and asserted that Turkey is supporting ISIS and facilitating the movement of terrorists across its borders with Syria.
