Moscow, SANA-Russian Ministry of Defense announced that it has foiled a new attack on its air base in Hmeimim in Lattakia province through a drone launched by terrorist groups from the areas where they are positioned in Idleb.
The Ministry said in a press statement the means of monitoring the air space affiliated to the Russian Aerospace Force on Sunday night tracked a drone that was getting near Hmeimim base as it was launched from the areas controlled by the terrorist groups.
The statement added that the regular weapons of the air defense destroyed the target at far distance from the airport.
The statement asserted that the incident caused no causalities or material damage and that the Russian Hmeimim base is working according to the regular system.
