Astana, SANA- Director of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry’s Asia and Africa department, Aidarbek Tumatov, has said that the 9th round of Astana talks on Syria constitutes a new phase after ending the presence of terrorism on most of the Syrian lands.
In a statement to journalists in Astana on Tuesday, Tumatov hailed the positive stances pursued by the participant delegations in the ongoing round of Astana talks.
He stressed that the talks focused on the humanitarian issues and removing explosive devices and mines from the areas liberated from terrorists in Syria for the locals to return to their homes.
The U.S. representatives’ absence from the ongoing Astana 9 talks will not impede the process thanks to the presence of the guarantor states and all other parties who are participating in Astana process, Tumatov elaborated.
The 9th round of Astana talks on Syria kicked off on Monday with the participation of Syrian Arab Republic delegation headed by Dr. Bashar al-Jaafari and other delegations.
