Al-Moallem inaugurates new Syrian Embassy HQ in Muscat

Muscat, SANA- Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Moallem discussed on Wednesday with Chairman of State Council of Oman Yahya bin Mahfouz Al-Mundhiri means of bolstering bilateral relations, particularly the parliamentary ones.

Al-Moallem affirmed the importance of deepening parliamentary communication between the two countries, expressing his admiration of the parliamentary experience represented by the Omani Council in the Sultanate.

Al-Mundhiri, in turn, expressed the Council’s interest to deepen its ties with the Syrian People’s Assembly, hoping for the return of security and stability to all Syrian territory in order to retake its leading role in the Arab arena.

Later, al-Moallem, accompanied by his Omani counterpart Yousef Bin Alawi, inaugurated the new headquarters of the Syrian Embassy in Muscat in a ceremony attended by a crowd of members of the Syrian community as well as senior officials of the Omani Foreign Ministry. The ceremony included folklore and artistic shows showing the cultural and civilizational heritage of Syria.

Following the inauguration ceremony, Syrian and Omani sides resumed their talks, discussing various aspects of the bilateral relations.
