Syrian national football team draws 2-2 with Qatar within 2018 International Friendship Championship

Baghdad, SANA – The Syrian national football team drew 2-2 with its Qatari counterpart within the 2018 International Friendship Championship match held on Saturday evening in Baghdad at Basrah International Stadium.

Omar al-Souma and Zaher Midani scored the Syrian team’s goals at the the 49th and 72nd minutes, while the Qatari’s goals were scored at the 58th and 71st minutes.

The Syrian team will play the last match of the Championship with its Iraqi counterpart on Tuesday, and it will need to win with a goal difference of over two to be crowned champion. Qatar currently has four points, the Syrian team has one point, and the Iraqi team has zero points.
