Moscow, SANA – Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said that the situation is very difficult for people living in the areas where the US-led alliance and terrorists groups allied with it are operating.
Konashenkov told journalists on Wednesday that the situation of the population of Raqqa is a humanitarian disaster that those who claim to have liberated the city continue to ignore, adding that the alliance’s airstrikes destroyed around 80% of buildings in the city.
“Following ambitious statements about the liberation of these areas from [Daesh], they have turned into black holes as the situation there is clear neither for the Syrian government nor international observers,” he said.
Konashenkov added that the situation is also difficult in the Rukban refugee camp on the Syrian-Jordanian borders, near where the US forces are stationed in al-Tanf, as up to 60,000 refugees are forcefully detained there and experience very difficult conditions.
