Damascus, SANA- Prime Minister Imad Khamis met Syrian businessmen to determine the principles of the Syrian participation in the Syrian-Russian economic forum that will kick off on Monday to discuss cooperation in the domains of industry, trade, agriculture, energy, and tourism.
The participants focused on uniting the efforts of Syrian Ministries and Chambers of Commerce to provide all needed requirements and facilitation for businessmen to be the executive tools to attract investments, provide their Russian counterparts with a clear vision about the investment environment available for strategic projects, and make use of the results of the Russian-Syrian committee for economic cooperation meetings that were held in Sochi.
During the meeting, Khamis asserted that the government is working on providing all the facilitations related to economic work and investment and increasing the volume of trade exchange with the countries that supported Syria in combating terrorism.
Samir Hassan, Chairman of the Syrian-Russian Business Council, clarified that the prospects for cooperation between the two sides in the economic fields are broad and there is a great desire to bolster this cooperation, noting that there are many investment projects under study, especially in the field of cement, building materials, and air and sea transport, and in industrial, commercial, energy and infrastructure sectors.
