Philippines appreciates Syria’s role in ending critical condition of UNDOF Filipino soldiers

Damascus, SANA – Philippines On Thursday expressed appreciation to Syria for its active role in ending the critical condition of the Filipino soldiers who are part of Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) in the Syrian Golan.
That came in a letter directed by the Government of Philippines to the government of Syria, in which it expressed gratitude to Syria for the efforts and support provided for rescuing the Filipino soldiers and ensuring their safety.

On 30th of August, al-Qaeda-linked terrorists seized 44 Filipino soldiers in Quneitra crossing.
Philippine military spokesman Lt. Col. Ramon Zagala told reporters, “All Filipinos are safe.”
The U.N. mission, known as UNDOF, has 1,223 troops from six countries: Fiji, India, Ireland, Nepal, Netherlands and the Philippines.
