Temperatures around average, heavy rain expected

Damascus, SANA- Temperatures continue to drop to become around or slightly lower than average as the country is affected by a low air pressure accompanied by a wet air mass in all layers of the atmosphere.

The Meteorology Department expected in its Tuesday bulletin that the skies will be partly cloudy to cloudy and rainy in most areas; rain will be accompanied by thunder on the western areas. The department warned against the formation of ice in the mountains and fog in some inland areas.

The winds will be western to southwestern of moderate speed with gusts, while the sea waves will be high in amplitude.

Rain fell in most Syrian provinces during the past 24 hours as the heaviest rain amounts reached 55mm in Hama province.

The rain amounts in some Syrian provinces are as follows: 39mm in Damascus, 18,5mm in Sweida, 13mm in Daraa, 42mm in Quneitra, 35mm in Homs, 8mm in Lattakia, 51mm in Tartous, 5mm in Aleppo and 17mm in Hasaka.

The expected temperatures in some major Syrian cities are as follows: Damascus 13/08, Daraa 15/07, Homs 11/09, Hama 13/10, Lattakia 17/15, Aleppo 10/05 and Deir Ezzor 15/10.
