Tehran, SANA- A women’s delegation of different Syrian universities visited on Tuesday the Iranian Islamic Consultative Assembly, meeting Head of the women’s committee in the Assembly.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed women’s important role in the Iranian and Syrian society, as well as their participation in education and social awareness to avoid bad repercussions of war.

The delegation also met Sayyida Zahra Mostafavi, who is the daughter of Ayatollah Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and talked about the negative effect of war on generations and how to avoid the damage that inflict all the members of society through concentrating on science and social awareness and spreading the culture of diversity and coexistence.
They visited Women’s Mobilization Center in Tehran, where they talked about the significance of women’s role in society in war times, and stressed the continued cooperation within the international and scientific organizations and local institutions in order to empower women’s role on all levels, mainly the social and educational ones, to rebuild Syria effectively after the war.
Besides, the delegation met the Syrian Ambassador in Tehran Adnan Mahmoud, who stressed the significance of those visits in strengthening ties between Syria and Iran, pointing out to the fundamental role of women in society “intellectually, socially, culturally and educationally.”
