Prime Minister: Syria ready to cooperate with all organizations that believe in the country’s ancient civilization

Damascus, SANA – Prime Minister Imad Khamis discussed on Sunday with Secretary-General of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), Taleb Rifai, the efforts exerted by the government to promote tourism industry, which was suspended during the years of the war.

Khamis affirmed that one of the government’s priorities is to revive the Syrian heritage sites, which have been subjected to systematic destruction by the terrorists.

Prime Minister added that the recovery phase in Syria has begun due to the victories achieved by the Army, stressing that the country will start to rehabilitate tourist facilities and it is open to cooperate with all organizations that believe in its civilization rooted in history as well as its human message.

Rifai, for his part, stressed the importance of setting up a promotion campaign to introduce tourist areas in Syria in addition to preparing hotels and tourist destinations, as well as reviving the tourism industry which will help recover and support the national economy.
