Damascus, SANA- An army unit, in cooperation with the popular defense groups thwarted Daesh (ISIS) terrorist groups’ infiltration attempt towards the outskirts of al-Tadamon neighborhood to the south of Damascus city.
SANA reporter said that Daesh terrorists on Wednesday infiltrated from al-Yarmouk Camp into a number of blocks of buildings in the residential neighborhood of al-Tadamon to attack civilians in an attempt to force them to leave their houses.
The reporter added that an army unit, in cooperation with the popular defense groups and backed by the artillery force, restored all the blocks of buildings into which terrorists had infiltrated, killing and injuring most of them, while the rest fled away towards al-Yarmouk Camp.
The reporter stressed that the resilience of the neighborhood’s inhabitants and their support to the army played a key role in thwarting the terrorist attack and bringing the conditions in the neighborhood to normality.
In Aleppo, an army unit carried out intensive bombardment targeting Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists’ gathering in Tal Ahmar area to the west of Khanaser in the southeastern countryside of Aleppo province, killing 20 terrorists and injuring others.
SANA reporter said that Jabhat al-Nusra self-claimed leader, nicknamed Abu Omaira al-Masri and one of his assistants were killed after an army unit destroyed, with a guided missile, their car on Burj Sabna-Rasm al-Saiyaleh road to the west of Khanaser area.
