Damascus, SANA- Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources have signed a road map with the Russian ROSGEO company that includes cooperation in many joint projects related to the domains of the Ministry’s work.
The road map, signed Thursday by Minister of Petroleum Ali Ghamen and ROSGEO Director General Roman Panov, stipulates for the establishment of a scientific center specialized in the hydrocarbon, geophysical and geological studies and the 2D seismic survey of the area to the north of Damascus.
The map also stipulated for establishing a joint company for seismic survey and starting a 3D seismic survey for the Syrian territorial water, in addition to the issue of training and qualifying Syrian cadres through setting training programs.
A joint company in the domain of geology and mineral resources will be also established according to the road map to provide all geological studies and data in Syria and to study the investment of the basalt in industry in Syria, in addition to rehabilitating the salt mine in Deir Ezzor through forming follow-up committees to implement all the projects which have been agreed upon according to specific timetables.
