Tehran, SANA – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani asserted that the future of Syria will not be in the hands of foreign powers, reiterating that the US-Zionist interference in the region’s affairs will not succeed.
In a statement before heading for Sochi to participate in the tripartite Russian-Iranian-Turkish summit, Rouhani said “Sochi meeting will come up with a statement which we hope will be the basis of a better future for Syria.”
Rouhani added that Iran has always shouldered its responsibilities towards the situations in the region, taking into consideration that the schemes of the Western powers which target it come in the framework of the so-called “Greater Middle East” project which the US has been trying to implement for years backed by the Zionist entity.
