Armed Groups violate de-escalation zone agreement and target Dwailaa and Jaramana areas with rockets

Damascus, SANA – Armed groups targeted Damascus and its countryside with rocket shells in a new breach of the de-escalation zone agreement, killing a young man in Jaramana city today.

The armed groups positioned in some areas of the Eastern Ghouta in Damascus Countryside targeted Jaramana city with a rocket round, killing a man and causing material damage in the targeted area, a source at Damascus Police Command told SANA.

According to the police source, another rocket shell fired by the armed groups from Eastern Ghouta caused material damage at Zainab Fawaz School in Dwailaa neighborhood.

Earlier on Monday, 8 persons including a child and two Judo athletes were killed and scores were injured in terrorist attacks with rocket and mortar shells on a number of residential neighborhoods in Damascus and on Jaramana city in Damascus Countryside.

The General Command of the Army and Armed Forces announced on July 22 the halting of all military actions in a number of areas of Eastern Ghouta as per the de-escalation zone agreement, but also stressed that it will respond in an appropriate manner to any violation of the agreement.
