Damascus, SANA – Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) hailed Syria’s efforts in providing services and facilitations for Palestinian refugees despite the ongoing crisis.
Krahenbuh’s remarks came during a meeting with Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Fayssal Mikdad on Monday.
He expressed the UNRWA’s appreciation of the existing cooperation relations between the agency and Syria, affirming keenness to continue and strengthen this cooperation.
For his part, Mikdad said that Syria is doing its utmost to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinians wherever they are in Syria, whether inside the camps or outside them.
He expressed Syria’s support to the UNRWA in the face of attempts to undermine its role as it is the only organization dealing with Palestinian refugees, while, particularly Israel and its supporters, are making efforts to obliterate the just rights of the Palestinians, including the right of return.
