Moscow, SANA – Assistant Regional Secretary of al-Baath Arab Socialist Party Hilal al-Hilal and Head of the Russian Federation Communist Party Gennady Zyuganov stressed the importance of unifying efforts to fight terrorism and foil US-Atlantic schemes against Syria and Russia.
During a meeting on the sideline of the International Forum of Left Forces on the centennial anniversary of October Revolution in Russia, the two sides called for further boosting bilateral cooperation, exchanging viewpoints on regional and international issues, in addition to signing a 3-year cooperation agreement between the two parties.
Zyuganov stressed Russia’s support to the Syrian people’s fair causes and struggle against terrorism.
In a statement to SANA correspondent, Head of the Russian Communist Party said that he held several talks with President Vladimir Putin since the very beginning of events in Syria where he stressed the serious threat those criminal terrorists poses if they dominate the region and expand their presence to Caucasus and Central Asia.
He noted that Russia will continue its military and humanitarian assistance to Syria in the face of terrorism being the right choice since it helps protect the security of Russian territory and the entire world.
Al-Hilal held two separate meetings with member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba, José Ramón Balaguer, and Secretary General of the Belarusian Communist Party, discussing cooperation prospects in rebuilding stage after complete eradication of terrorism.
