Damascus, SANA- “Western media and its tools have played a negative role in conveying an image about what is taking place in Syria and contributed to misleading the international public opinion and distorting facts in service of hostile agendas.”State Minister for National Reconciliation Affairs Ali Haidar said, adding that the European stance has not been independent in its policies towards Syria.
Meeting a delegation embracing parliamentary, media and medical French figures, Haidar clarified that the legal status of more than 100 thousand persons have been settled within the project of local reconciliations in different Syrian areas.
He added that the Syrian state has sent aid to different Syrian areas and guaranteed all the daily needs for citizens in different areas regardless of the attempts to politicize the humanitarian files by the Western states.
He elaborated that the delay in achieving the reconciliations in the southern area in Damascus is due to the complicated situation there and the existence of some of the extremist terrorist organizations in this area such as ISIS and Jabhat al-Nusra.
Commenting on the issue of the displaced Syrians in Lebanon, he said “Some Lebanese figures and institutions are investing the situation of these refugees in an inhuman way.”
He briefed the delegation on the project of the national reconciliations in details and the mechanisms of implementing it, in addition to the obstacles and difficulties facing that project.
For his part, Head of the delegation Dr. Anas Shuhaib said that terrorism facing Syria is threatening all humanity, affirming that Syrian expatriates adhere to their national identity.
Members of the delegation said that the goal behind their visit to Syria is to get acquainted with the reality of what is taking place on the ground and of the repercussions of the siege imposed by the EU and US on the Syrian people and on building the humanitarian heritage.
